Our Funding
Along with government support, our service relies on financial support from philanthropists and corporate partners to nourish millions of children and to continue expanding into more locations, while also focussing on sustainable and environment-friendly operations.
We are grateful for the support we receive and strive to ensure utmost transparency and accountability in all matters related to raising and utilisation of funds. On average, we use 92% of the funds donated to the organisation to meet the programme cost and 8% to fulfil the programme management cost.
Our Impact: Enrolment
Several studies done by various organisations, including AC Nielsen and the Harvard Business School, report findings that point towards positive signals
The Mid-day meal scheme has been found to significantly increase the probability of enrolment in primary school and on-time enrolment in first grade. A deeper analysis showed that the programme had a larger effect on socially disadvantaged groups and on girls.
Our Impact: Classroom Performance
Specifically, the analysis found the effect of the mid-day meal programme on girls to be almost twice its effect on boys for primary school enrolment, suggesting that the programme had a positive impact on reducing the gender gap in school participation.
Interviews of teachers as part of these studies also confirmed the increase in enrolment and attendance, along with a significant increase in classroom performance and energy levels
